Brazil World Cup Preview
Brazil is the host this summer and they also hosted the World Cup back in 1950 where they lost to Uruguay in the final. No shock that the team is loaded again and while they have many world-class players they lack a superstar, which is strange for them. Usually, Brazil is known for their dynamic attack, but the strength of this squad may be their defense. They have the best betting odds to win the World Cup and are big betting favorites to win their group, which is not the toughest one, but not the easiest either.
Group Preview
Brazil is in Group A along with Croatia, Mexico, and Cameroon. The opening World Cup match in Rio will be facing Croatia and while that squad has a good midfield they are without their main striker, who is suspended for the match. They face Mexico in their next match and they are the big betting favorite again, but Brazil did lose to Mexico in the last Olympics final. Brazil ends group play very overmatched against Cameroon it would be a big surprise if Brazil did not win the group.

Qualifying
As the host Brazil did not have to go through the qualification process. They did play a tough schedule of friendly matches and they have won their last 6.
They beat a few of the teams playing this summer in Portugal, Chile, and Korea Republic. They also won the 2013 Confederations Cup beating defending World Cup champions Spain in the final.
Strengths and Weaknesses
The defense is the strength of the squad led by Barcelona’s Dani Alves and they rarely let opponents get close to their box. The attack is also solid with Barcelona’s Neymar from Barcelona being a young player that may be the next superstar. He and Hulk form a formidable duo up front and Chelsea’ Oscar leads the good midfield. There are no big weaknesses for the Brazilian squad, but they are vulnerable when it comes to long-range shots on goal.
