Chile is a dangerous team that may do some damage this summer after ending the qualifying process on fire. However, they were drawn into, arguably, the 2nd toughest group, which includes 2010 World Cup finalists Holland and Spain. They have a good attack on the flank, but their big issue is the midfield and that is a big one with the Dutch and Spanish in the same group.

Chile is in Group B with Spain, Holland, and Australia. They are a much better squad that Australia and they need to take 3 points away from that match with a win. Facing Spain and Holland in the next 2 matches are killer and if they can band together and not get dominated in the time of possession in the midfield then they have a shot. Qualifying
Chile looked down and out early in South American World Cup qualifying, as they fell behind the 8-ball early dropping their first 4 matches. However, when the manager was sacked and they brought in Jorge Sampaoli the squad really started to play great not losing again. They were 5-4-1 in the qualifying process and not only beat Uruguay, who have the 8th best odds to win the World Cup, at home, but also played to a draw on the road facing a dangerous Colombia squad.
Strengths and Weaknesses
The flank and counter-attack is solid for the Chilean squad and they have a world-class FW in Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona. Juventus MF Arturo Vidal is a solid 2-way player that must feed the offense and drop back on defense, especially facing the strong attacks of Holland Spain in group play. The defense is not a great one and in qualifying they conceded an average of 1.5 goals per match. In their 6 qualifying matches where they fell behind they never recovered to get even 1 points with a draw, so it is key they draw first blood this summer.
