Cameroon World Cup Preview
Cameroon has a very physical team that did not have the easiest time qualifying and while they are not in the toughest group it is far from the easiest with host Brazil. They have the worst odds to win the group and are major long shot odds to win the World Cup. They still have Samuel Eto’o and the defense is a good one, but the midfield is a big concern, which is not good with the other solid teams in their group.
Group Preview
Cameroon is in Group A along with Brazil, Croatia, and Mexico. While Croatia and Mexico also had tough times in qualifying they are betting favorites facin Cameroon, which are there first 2 World Cup matches. I think they have a chance facing Mexico, but the strong Croatia midfield will give the African nation big problems. They do not have a chance against Brazil in the group finale, so their first 2 matches are vital.

Qualifying
As stated earlier Cameroon did not easily qualify for Brazil having to beat Tunisia in the CAF playoffs. In their 6 matches in World Cup qualifying before the playoff their defense played well, but the same cannot be said about their offense, which only mustered 8 goals. They beat the teams they should have, going 7-1-1 in the process, and in the crucial home match facing Tunisia in the 2nd woke up and they won 4-0, which put them in the draw this summer.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Besides the solid defense another big strength of the squad is their ability to hold a lead. In qualifying they were only 1 of 4 nations that did not lose a single point
after they took a lead in a match. Chelsea FW Samuel Eto’o leads the attack, but in a 3rd midfield and he must shine in that area in group play, especially facing Brazil and Croatia.
